Cate Bellanca, Photo Editor for Forbes Magazine, called and asked for an environmental portrait of Robert Manschot, CEO, Rural Metro.

This was another December day with rain on and off all day, so I was concerned that we might get rained out... but the clouds were pretty amazing and sometimes you just luck out.

I scouted the several Rural Metro fire stations in Scottsdale, AZ a few days before the shoot, and we decided on this location. It's really just a parking lot on the south side of the station.

I arrived with 2 photo assistants and we arranged the ambulance and a fire truck with a ladder headed towards the sky. I really wanted to have a fireman at the top of the ladder with a hose shooting an arc of water across the top of the shot (that would have looked so cool) but they wouldn't do it, oh well.
