Gordon Griller, Administrator of the Maricopa County Superior Court walking down the stairs at the old Courthouse, Phoenix, AZ

Jeff Langkow, Art Director for Civic.com Magazine wanted an interesting Environmental Portrait of Gordon Griller. I scouted the old courthouse in Phoenix and they have this amazing staircase that reminds me of a Nautilus shell.

I shot this in color as well, but really loved the look of the b/w image. I remember we had to put some magenta gel over the two florescent bulbs up on the wall (one is hiding behind the subject), so we had to contact the courthouse engeeneer to bring a ladder and a box to put on the stairs to level the ladder as the light fixture is pretty high up on the wall, and there's no other way to get to it (unless you can hover? :-)
