Available light through north facing glass doors, I slightly opened the door (and secured the position of the door so it would not change) in front of Christine to change the angle of any reflections and make communicating with her much easier.

Exposure: 1/2000th @ f1.4, Nikon D300 with 50mm f/1.4 lens.

I wanted the background to have beautiful bokeh (the aesthetic quality of the blur, in the out-of-focus areas of an image, or "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points") that the 50mm lens is capable of... I was a little nervous shooting wide open (I don't shoot that wide very often) but the 50mm lens is very sharp and I was able to view the images and check focus while shooting.
